8i6 offers two third generation Scarlett Focusrite microphone preamplifiers, on which we find the AIR mode, which, once activated, introduces a particular equalization curve. This is an increase in medium-high frequencies, with a contextual saturation that is pleasantly appreciable on voices and acoustic sources in general. The AIR mode emulates the function of the same name that made ISA preamplifiers famous. The particular Gain Halo meter, an LED that surrounds the entire perimeter of the GAIN potentiometer varying its illumination based on the intensity of the signal, will simplify the setting of the input level to avoid unpleasant distortions and clips.
